    Long time, no post

It's been a while since I posted on this thing. I don't know why I haven't, I guess I kinda forgot it was even here.

I just wanted to post and say I'm going to Germany this summer with Auntie. I'm really excited about it.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else to say. See you in a year!

    Just kidding!

    Five Things Meme

Auntie tagged me for this meme. I don't know what a meme is; Dad tried to explain it to me, and I still don't know what it is, but he finally just said "You need to post 5 things that people don't necessarily know about you, or 5 things that you haven't posted about." So, here goes.

    1) I can't sleep through the night without a couple of stuffed animals. Most of the time, I sleep with the big pink stuffed snake I got at Point Defiance Zoo, and a big stuffed crocodile (Dad keeps calling it an alligator, but it's a crocodile) that I got at Woodland Park Zoo.

    2) I like pink, but sometimes I'm more in the mood for green. The pink is not a surprise, I'm sure, but I bet you didn't know about the green.

    3) I like onions. Seven-year-olds do not generally like onions, but I like onions. It started out with onion rings, but I've recently discovered that I just like cooked onions. Who knew?

    4) My Mom and Dad actually do call me "Monkey". They have for as long as I remember. I think it's silly; I have a perfectly good name (Laura Grace), but they call me Monkey.

    5) In my gymnastics classes, I am the worst in the class at doing the splits, and because I have a big giant head, I can't get my head off the ground yet when I do a bridge. I also used to be afraid of, well, pretty much everything at gymnastics, even the balance been that was like 4 inchess off the floor, but Auntie cured me of that.

Dad says I'm supposed to tap people, whatever that means. So, my list is [info]benevola, [info]einstein9073, [info]cpk, [info]misquoted and Dad. That's pretty much all the people I know.

    I'm a picker, I'm a grinner, I'm a fiddle beginner...

Daddy took some pictures of me today with my fiddle and my guitar. He's teaching me to play the fiddle and Auntie and he are teaching me the guitar. It's a lot of fun, but I sure wish my shoulder rest would come because it's hard to hold the fiddle and play without it.

Anyway, here are my pictures. I hope you like them:

Ramblings of a 5.75 year old soccer chick

Hi, Mommy! I really love you! And I love you, too, Daddy! And you, too, Auntie! And Uncle Chuck and Butt Pie!

I started playing soccer and I really like it. And I get to move up from the P1 class to the P2 class in swimming. I have no idea what P1 or P2 mean, except that I think it means I got better at swimming. And, I got moved to another class in gymnastics with some older kids, and that's way cool, too.

My daddy's taking me to the driving range tomorrow, so I practiced outside with him for a little bit tonight, and that was fun. I really like spending time with my daddy. Oh, and we practiced passing the soccer ball last night and tonight and that was pretty cool.

Anyway, that's all I wanted to say today.

    Story time

So, lately, whenever I ask Daddy to read me a story, he always wants to read that "Harry Potter" book to me. I really like my other stories, but he says he's tired of reading "The Cat in the Hat", so I guess I'll humor him. It's an okay story, but it doesn't have any pictures, and it's really long, and it hasn't really gotten to the good stuff yet, but I guess it will someday.

I'm just afraid he'll never ever want to read me "The Cat in the Hat" again.

    I hate shots!
Yesterday mommy took me to get my kindergarten physical. I got weighed and measured and I got to hop on one foot and read teensy little letters on a chart while covering one eye (I still don't know what the heck that was for). Everything was going great UNTIL...Doctor Laura said I needed shots!! Mommy had said I would probably need one shot for sure. As it turned out, I needed THREE SHOTS! To add insult to injury, the nurse then stuck a needle in my finger and took out a bunch of my blood. I was really brave, and hugged my teddy bear, but it really hurt a lot. After we left Doctor Laura's office, I got to talk to daddy on the phone, and mommy took me out for ice cream.

Last night, I wasn't feeling very well, so I woke mommy up and made her sleep with me. I had a headache and my arms really hurts. Mommy said I had a fever, too. We decided to see if sleep would make it all better, and it did! Yay! I feel great today, and I'm totally excited about kindergarten! Yay kindergarten!!
